Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliance

PowerDNA, PowerDNR, UEIPAC, UEILogger, UEIMODBUS and UEISIM products.

All Cube and RACKtangle™ chassis products and accessories are fully RoHS Compliant. This pertains to all UEI products that begin with: DNA, DNR, UEIPAC, UEISIM or UEILOGGER, including all chassis, I/O boards and accessories.

PCI, ISA and PDXI boards and accessories.

The European Union’s RoHS Directive, slated to go into effect on July 1, 2006 defines the scope of the restrictions in Article 2 as follows:

1. Without prejudice to Article 6, this directive shall apply to electrical and electronic equipment falling under categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 set out in Annex IA to Directive No. 2002/96/EC (WEEE) and to electric light bulbs, and luminaries in households.

Therefore, all category 9 products are excluded under the scope of the RoHS Directive. United Electronic Industries Products are Classified as Category 9 Products.
The WEEE Directive defines each of the 10 categories of electrical and electronic equipment in Annex 1. Category 9 is defined as follows:

• 9. Monitoring and Control Instruments
  Smoke detectors
  Heating regulators
  Thermostats
  Measuring, weighing or adjusting appliances for household or as laboratory equipment. Other monitoring and control instruments used in industrial installations (e.g., in control panels).

Consequently, United Electronic Industries PCI, PDXI, and ISA products are classified within the WEEE/RoHS category list as Monitoring and Control Equipment (Category 9).
