UEI Data Acquisition (DAQ) Products:No matter what your application needs may be, UEI has high performance PC-based data acquisition systems ready to fit your total solution. Whether your needs include PXI and PCI Data Acquisition (DAQ), Ethernet DAQ interfaces, Ethernet I/O, data loggers/data recorders, or embedded control, industrial control and embedded controller hardware and software; we have the products and world-class technical support to get you up and running properly. |
Data Acquisition Devices and Software
Data Acquisition Systems from UEI

The PowerDNA ® (Distributed Networked Automation) Cube is a compact, rugged, Ethernet-based data acquisition (DAQ) interface, ideally suited for a wide variety of industrial, aerospace and laboratory data acquisition and control applications. Each Cube includes a CPU, real-time OS, Ethernet interface and slots allowing the installation of up to six I/O boards.
The UEILogger™ is a powerful, rugged, flexible and easy-to-use data logger (or data recorder) suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. Based upon UEI's popular PowerDNA family it uses the same DNA series I/O boards. The UEILogger maintains all of the PowerDNA's flexibility and adds a powerful standalone data logging/recording capability.

The UEIPAC™ programmable automation controllers offer an unprecedented combination of flexibility, high performance, low cost and small size. The UEIPAC unit is an ideal solution in a wide variety of measurement and control applications including: Temperature control, Remote vehicle control (UAV and ULV), Hardware in-the-loop (HIL) and more. The UEIPAC is also an ideal solution for a host of embedded data acquisition (DAQ) applications as it allows systems to be developed without the cost, or the additional space required by an external host computer.
The UEIModbus™ cubes are compact, rugged, Ethernet-based data acquisition and control interface that communicates with a host computer or PLC over MODBUS TCP. Their flexibility allows you to configure one or more cubes to match the specific I/O requirements of your application. The UEIModbus is ideally suited for a wide variety of industrial monitoring and control applications.

Despite the emergence of alternate form factors for PC-based test, measurement and control, boards that plug into the PCI and ISA buses continue to serve as the I/O workhorse. UEI has developed a line of board-level products that turn your PC into a powerful measurement and control system.
For industrial applications, the CompactPCI form factor is gaining rapidly in acceptance and market share. Because the data acquisition cards are based on the PCI bus standard, engineers like the fact that they can program them using familiar PC-based tools and development environments. However, cPCI overcomes the limitations of standard PCI-bus cards mounted in a conventional PC because of the secure chassis mounting, cooling and their inherent ruggedness.
UEIDAQ Framework library uses the same API to access any devices from the PowerDAQ PCI/PXI and PowerDNA Distributed Ethernet I/O families. Using UEiDAQ Framework library dramatically cuts the amount of code needed to perform data-acq and control tasks.
UEI's Linux drivers are designed to work with Ver 2.4.x and 2.6.x releases of the Linux kernel for x86 and x86_64 CPUs with all popular versions of Linux. As newer kernel versions appear on the market, UEI is committed to fully test its Linux drivers, supply any modifications that might be necessary, and place the latest drivers on our web site.
UEI has tested its Linux drivers to verify that they work perfectly when used in conjunction with the major realtime extensions available for Linux. Specifically, we have worked successfully with the extensions supplied by FSM Labs (RTLinux) and RTAI Linux. Better yet, programmers can use the same driver module for both realtime and non-realtime applications.
UEI has been working closely with The MathWorks to polish a set of xPC/PowerDAQ drivers and get them ready for a general release, which you can expect later this year. In the meantime, these prerelease versions of the xPC drivers are available to selected users upon special request. Customers looking for detailed information about this option should send an email to xPC-info@ueidaq.com.
The PowerDNA driver for RTX (Real-Time Extension for Windows) consists of a library as well as source code examples showing how to communicate with PowerDNA I/O modules over the network in a real-time application. Our RTX driver offers the same API as our Windows driver, making it very easy to convert a standard Windows application using PowerDNA to Real-time application. The RTX driver requires Ardence's RTX 6.x as well as the add-on Real-time TCP/IP. |
