UEI’s hardware and I/O are ideally suited for embedded control and logging applications in aerospace, military, space, industrial, vehicle, laboratory environments and more. Our systems allow users to quickly and easily develop embedded control and logging solutions that are flexible, rugged and dynamic.

UEIPAC Series

The UEIPAC series represents our stand-alone embedded controllers or data loggers.

Supported OS’s

  • Linux with support for:
    • Real time kernel patch guaranteeing that something will execute in a given time frame. Used when a tardy response to a given execution time can lead to a serious error condition.
  • VxWorks: the industry’s leading real-time operating system, delivers all the performance, determinism, reliability, safety, and security capabilities you need to meet the highest standards for running the computing systems of the most important critical infrastructure.

Hardware Features:

  • UEI supports both PowerPC 8347 and ARM v9 processors
  • Up to 8 GB flash and 1 GB RAM
  • SSD’s up to 64 GB
  • Redundant/ independent Ethernet ports

Work in your Preferred OS

Build any of your applications on a Linux PC, Windows PC using Cygwin or on a VxWorks OS.

Use your favorite IDE, such as Eclipse, with the capability to debug remotely with GDB.

Applications and Programming languages

Applications using UEIPAC

UEI IoT

Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interconnected physical devices that can share data with each other as well as cloud services for archiving and analysis. UEI’s Programmable Automation Controllers (UEIPAC) come pre-installed with Eclipse Mosquito (MQTT) which implements the machine-to-machine protocol. UEI also supports Helix Device Cloud, Amazon AWS IoT and Microsoft Azure.

UEISIM

With our UEISIM series, easily run Simulink models on real I/O. Build a standard Simulink application and then generate and compile code using MathWorks embedded coder. You can then run models stand-alone or under supervisory control of the host PC. UEISIM creates a powerful solution for developing and turning real time (and non-real-time) applications including model verification, rapid prototyping and HIL testing.

Military Application: UEI & US Navy

News: United Electronic Industries and the US Navy
In order to meet the needs of its LCAC fleet, the US Navy selected UEI to provide its flexible and rugged DNR-MIL series I/O control chassis and VxWorks BSP to be the new Command, Control, Computers, Communication, and Navigation (C4N) SBC4 Control, Alarm, and Monitoring System (CAMS). Working with UEI gave the Navy a smaller, easier to maintain, and more reliable controller

ZYNQ AND YOUR EMBEDDED APPLICATIONS

The new Zynq UltraScale+ based CPU offers up to a 10x increase in CPU performance over previous CPUs. When utilizing the built-in Xilinx FPGA, an increase in real-time performance up to 100x is possible.

The new CPU joins the currently supported Freescale MPC5200/8347 and SoloX based CPUs in the UEIPAC family and all are covered by UEI’s powerful 10-year availability guarantee. The initial release supports the Linux operating systems while VxWorks and PIKE OS support is expected in the future.

Benefits and features include:

  • 3 GigE Ethernet ports, supports IEEE-1588.
    • Quad-core ARM cortex - A53, 64-bit processor combined with a user programmable Xilinx FPGA.
    • 4 GByte, 64-bit DDR, 8 GByte FLASH
  • Dedicated ARM Mali GPU with the full HD video support.
  • M.2 slot for NVMe SS drives up to 512 GByte.
  • TSN Support
  • Cybersecurity (NIST SP 800-213)
