Hardware Test Engineer

United Electronic Industries (UEI) is a leading manufacturer of data acquisition (DAQ) and control input/output (I/O) products headquartered in Norwood, Massachusetts. We are a small but quickly growing company with a big future and are looking for a Hardware Test Engineer preferably with experience in electrical engineering.

About the Opportunity:

Based in Norwood, MA and reporting to our Director of Design Verification, your primary role will be to work with the engineering developers and help them test the functionality of their various designs. You will be testing hardware, software and their combined functionality. In this key role, you will help the engineering team debug new products and product changes in the final pre-release testing process.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop test plans for new products as well as significant product modifications and enhancements.
  • Perform the tests as developed and report the results to the appropriate design engineer(s).
  • Work with the designers to resolve any issues or bugs that may be identified
  • Create final pre-release test plans, test and debug new products and product changes to ensure they pass.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • C/C++ programming experience
  • PC based test equipment development (including GPIB/serial devices)
  • Solid understanding of A/D, D/A, amplifiers and related circuitry
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills


  • DAQ system experience
  • Ethernet, CAN, Serial and Avionics bus test experience
  • LabVIEW programming experience

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BSEE or equivalent
  • 5 or more years experience in a test engineering role
