International Sales Manager, EMEIA


United Electronic Industries (UEI) has an exciting opportunity to help grow our direct international presence. Reporting to the President, the International Sales Manager is responsible for all the sales activities in the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa territories. The goals of this position are to identify, manage and close new opportunities with key accounts; improve the performance of the distributor network currently existing in the assigned territory as well as appoint new distributors as needed; grow the international team and to contribute to the senior leadership team. This is a full- time position working out of a remote location within the assigned Sales Territory, ideally in Munich or Bremen Germany.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify, manage and close new opportunities. Work directly with various key international customers as required (with or without distributor support as appropriate).
  • Help to define a clear strategy on the International market as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Recommend when to open direct offices, hiring and growing an international direct sales team have eventual oversight of that team.
  • Manage the international distributor network including building relationships and motivating distributors to perform, identify new distributors to work with and identify changes as necessary.
  • Define a clear strategy for each distributor on what areas we excel in and sell the distributors on the value UEI products can bring to their customers (and subsequently to themselves).
  • Travel to the distributors to provide sales and technical training to assist in closing sales. This will include travelling with the distributors to key accounts and/or joining them in their sales calls. Coordinate the international distributor network with the effort of our inside sales and support team.
  • Forecast and achieve sales based on your targets and overall revenue plan.
  • Additional duties as required.

Position requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in technical sales, preferably internationally
  • Hands-on technical background, with BSEE preferred
  • Domain experience in a DAQ, embedded control, test & measurement or closely related field
  • Ability to travel internationally to visit customers and attend trade shows; Travel required is greater than 50%
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to explain technical information
  • Self starter, driven with a strong focus on achieving results
  • Desirable:
  • Fluency in one or more languages besides English
  • Experience in selling to military and aerospace customers
  • Demonstrated hands-on knowledge and technical proficiency with UEI products
