Technical Marketing Engineer

Working with the sales and marketing team, you will write the core text for various promotional collateral, manage our public relations operation including writing press releases and working with various editors to maximize UEI’s coverage in various industry publications, help define and write content for our digital media, web page and video series, work with our international subsidiaries to create messaging for the local markets and create other content as required to help UEI spread the message to our target audience.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Work with the graphic arts group to create product line literature/video/sales support materials for existing product lines. These will ultimately build the value of the product line and maximize product line earnings. You will drive the development of the marketing materials from concept through completion.
• Develops product-oriented positioning documents, product profiles, competitive analysis, presentations, demos, white papers, product updates and content for corporate marketing vehicles such as web sites, emails, brochures, trade shows and seminars.
• Work with our Marketing and Sales group to analyze the effectiveness of our marketing programs; keeps others informed by maintaining and distributing evaluations and reporting of their success.
• Collaborates with sales to ensure a high quality of sales support in terms of new product/market introductions and the collateral to support them.
• Conducts research on competitor products.
• Works collaboratively with Marketing Communications and other related departments to ensure products are properly positioned in the market utilizing creative promotional, service, and product characteristic strategies to maximize sales and profits.
• Some travel required, almost entirely domestic. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, electrical engineering degree highly desirable
• 3-5 years in a marketing role and/or a graduate business degree preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and in particular, writing skills
• Desire to be hands-on and get things done
• Desire to be a team player and work in a collaborative environment
• Strong technical aptitude
• Ability to quickly get up to speed with new technologies and systems
• Experience in the aerospace, military and/or space industries a definite plus
