Test Engineer

UEI is a rapidly growing manufacturer of computer-based data acquisition and control products headquartered in Norwood, MA, has an immediate opening for a Test Engineer.

Reporting to the Director of Design Verification, the Test Engineer is responsible to test and help debug new/modified engineering release candidate/beta products. Test products to ensure they fully comply with product specifications and work correctly with UEI’s software offerings. Test analog and digital communications and special function hardware, software, and their combined functionality. Work to develop and support production test equipment for use by manufacturing group.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Test Engineering release candidates/betas to ensure proper functionality as defined in product data sheet and manual. Develop and execute test plan.
  • Work with Engineering Design group to resolve any issues or bugs that may be identified.
  • Work with Manufacturing group to help develop new manufacturing tests and provide support for existing test equipment.


  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in a test engineering role.
  • C/C++ programming experience.
  • PC based test equipment development (including GPIB/serial devices).
  • Solid understanding of A/D, D/A, amplifiers, and related circuitry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • PC-based DAQ system experience preferred.
  • Ethernet, CAN, Serial and Avionics bus test experience preferred.
  • LabVIEW programming experience preferred.
  • EtherCAT experience preferred.
  • Linux/RTOS experience preferred.
