CFO / Director of Finance

UEI is a rapidly growing manufacturer of computer-based data acquisition and control products headquartered in Walpole, MA. Due to our recent growth and international expansion, we are seeking an accomplished CFO / Director of Finance to help bring our finance and accounting functions to the next level. This Director level role will report directly to the Owner/President, serving as a “righthand expert” in all matters related to financial planning and accounting practices. This person will be responsible for managing the budgeting, forecasting, reporting, accounting, audit and IT functions for multiple small business entities around the globe. The successful candidate will have experience with privately-owned, entrepreneurial organizations and must be able to collaborate successfully with UEI’s business development, operations, and technology departments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting functions & operations (A/P, A/R, payroll, close process, technical accounting systems, cash flow and financial planning) to ensure compliance & mitigate risk

• Lead, mentor, guide and develop Accounting and Customer Service staff

• Supported by data, provide strategic financial input and recommendations for potential paths, revenue diversification options, and best practices

• Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management

• Create and enhance financial policies, procedures, and programs to improve fiscal operations • Develop and implement appropriate controls and processes to promote organizational growth, including protocol for testing controls

• Ensure that all systems support accurate and timely recording of financial activity including revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities

• Facilitate the budget process and the preparation of financial reports

• Effectively promote budgeting and cost control principles among entire staff

• Oversee preparation of consolidated, audited financial statements and serve as primary contact for auditors

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal corporate accounting procedures, and all tax regulations and reporting requirements

Requirements:

• 10 - 15+ years of progressive accounting/finance management for a privately-owned company, preferably within a multi-site manufacturing environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred
