The DNA-XT allows an “empty” slot to be inserted between I/O boards in a Cube. In the Cube architecture, each I/O board plugs directly into the board above (and below if applicable). This connection scheme cannot be maintained if for any reason the application requires an “empty” slot between boards. The DNA-XT is designed to provide the bridge between boards when the slot between them will not contain another I/O board. The DNA-XT is designed with cutouts in the PCB to ensure no mechanical conflicts with boards above and below. The cutouts also facilitate airflow within the cube and the cooling impact it offers.
