At United Electronic Industries (UEI), long‑term product availability and customer trust remain top priorities. We have been informed the PowerPC 8347 and PowerPC 8347E processors, a cornerstone of the PowerDNA® platform for nearly 25 years, will be discontinued. While this marks the end of an exceptional processor lifecycle, UEI remains fully committed to supporting our customers.
UEI will continue product availability and support for up to ten (10) years from this notice, extending through calendar year 2036, giving customers stability and time to plan. The ARM‑based SoloX processor is available as a drop‑in replacement for all PowerDNA systems, enabling a smooth modernization path without system redesign.
We understand the impact lifecycle changes can have on long‑term programs, which is why we emphasize early communication, extended support windows, and forward‑compatible solutions. A formal End‑of‑Life (EOL) memo will be released later this quarter.
