NORWOOD, MA – AMETEK United Electronic Industries (UEI) today announced the availability of its VxWorks® Board Support Package (BSP) for UEI embedded platforms powered by the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+™ MPSoC processor. The BSP enables customers to rapidly deploy the Wind River® VxWorks® real-time operating system (RTOS) on UEI's rugged embedded data acquisition and control systems for aerospace, defense, energy, transportation, and industrial automation applications.
Designed for deterministic, mission-critical applications, the BSP provides comprehensive hardware support and seamless integration with UEI's proven PowerDNA™ architecture, allowing developers to leverage the same software framework across VxWorks, Linux, and Windows operating environments.
The UEI VxWorks BSP supports all four Arm® Cortex®-A53 cores available in the Zynq UltraScale+ processor and includes drivers for Ethernet, USB, serial communications, and local storage interfaces including eMMC and M.2 devices. In addition, the BSP supports all UEI I/O boards enabling customers to deploy advanced data acquisition, control, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test applications without rewriting application software.

These technologies enable precise synchronization of distributed control and data acquisition systems, making the solution ideal for next-generation avionics test, autonomy, vehicle simulation, and distributed edge computing applications.
The BSP integrates directly with the Wind River development environment and is compatible with VxWorks 7, providing developers with a familiar workflow using the Wind River Workbench IDE or command-line toolchain. Customers can quickly create applications using UEI's standard PowerDNA C API, significantly reducing development time and simplifying migration between operating systems.
